Master Suite Remodel

Can you believe it? Our first installation is finally complete!

Our Scandinavian-inspired STELLA tile is now breathing new life into a recently remodeled master suite in sunny Huntington Beach, California.

Follow along below to see how our STELLA tile helped LL Design Co take this suite’s style from outdated traditional to marvelously modern. 

Selecting the Right Materials

Lisa Rossman, co-owner of Huntington Beach design firm LL Design Co, reached out to us right after our launch in March 2020. She needed tile options for her client—a local homeowner embarking on an ambitious, complete master suite remodel.

We were delighted to connect with Rossman and rushed to send over a few of our favorite samples, so her client had some chic and sustainable tiles to choose from.

Her client went back and forth on which tile sample to select (who doesn’t have that problem?!), but eventually landed on the stylish STELLA 5-Flower tile in the colorway Fog.

One of the added benefits of this tile—and all LIVDEN tiles for that matter—is its tile body type. LL Design Co’s client selected the STELLA tile on our 12x12 Polar Ice Terrazzo, which is made from recycled materials and produced by manufacturers committed to preserving our planet’s resources.

So, this homeowner got the look of her dreams and helped diminish this project’s impact on our environment. Now that’s a win-win if we’ve ever seen one!

Finishing Fixtures

Before diving into the installation process, LL Design Co finalized what fixtures they would need to perfectly accent the building materials, like our Scandinavian-inspired STELLA tile, in the new suite.

LL Design Co selected sleek KOHLER fixtures to complement the clean, minimalist aesthetic of the tile flooring and wood cabinetry.

To light the area around the bath, the design team picked Black Balinese finishing baskets. These dark basket lights served to contrast the subdued gray colorway of the STELLA tile, and provided added visual interest to the overall design.

With the finishing fixtures in hand, the team was now ready to begin the installation process on this master suite remodel.

The Installation Process

This will not come as a surprise to anyone who’s ever taken on a home renovation project: there was a lot of work involved to get this project across the finish line!

Take a gander at what the master suite first looked like, below.

To completely revamp this suite space, LL Design Co partnered with local firm, Well Done Building and Design, to head up the construction and building plans.

In September 2019, the team broke ground and began work on the complete remodel. They ended up working with roughly 150 square feet of our STELLA tile to transform the space. We are happy to report that there were no hiccups while installing our tile, thanks to the fact that all LIVDEN tiles are easy to install and durable!

As the seasons changed and the temperature dropped, the project inched closer to completion. At the end of December 2020, the installation was finally complete!

Three short months later, our first residential project was in the books.

The Completed Master Suite Remodel

With the installation successfully completed and the new finishes in place, it was time to turn our attention to the fun stuff: shooting the space!

LL Design Co teamed up with Huntington Beach photographer, Mike Radford (@mikeradfordphoto), to capture the newfound beauty of the bathroom.

And boy, did he do just that.

We are so pleased with the look of this complete remodel. It is like a breath of fresh air. What was once a drab bathroom is now an elegant, coastally-inspired master suite that reflects the relaxed opulence of the SoCal lifestyle.
