Our Mission

At LIVDEN, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, it’s at the heart of everything we do. We are deeply committed to making responsible choices that support the health of our planet.

From sourcing eco-friendly materials and partnering with environmentally conscious manufacturers to participating in local recycling programs, we’re constantly striving to minimize our footprint.

Every step of our process is guided by a dedication to sustainable practices, ensuring that our products not only look good but also do good.

Sustainable Materials

At LIVDEN, our commitment to sustainability starts at the base. The idea of LIVDEN sparked because we recognized a gap in the market: beautiful decorative materials that are still kind to the planet!

We built our products on sustainable foundations (because what’s style without substance?), giving designers and homeowners an easy, feel-good way to go green—without sacrificing the wow factor.

Terrazzo Tiles

If you are looking for a more sustainable tile option, our eco-friendly terrazzo tiles are the perfect choice. Terrazzo is one of the world’s original recycled materials, and by using upcycled post-consumer materials, we’re able to reduce the amount of natural resources we use, helping lessen our environmental impact.

Our Polar Ice Terrazzo tiles are made with 65-66% post-consumer recycled materials, while our Chunky Terrazzo features recyclable glass composites and a cement based binder, making them as durable as they are eco-conscious.

PVC Free Wallpaper

At LIVDEN, we’re all about making sustainable choices, and that includes our eco-friendly wallpaper. Made from a fiber-based substrate with 31% post-consumer recycled materials, our wallpaper is a beautiful alternative to vinyl. It's crafted by a manufacturer committed to environmental responsibility and full transparency.

LIVDEN wallpapers are free of PVC, plasticizers, chlorine, formaldehyde, and heavy metals—so you can feel good about every design choice you make.

Livden Luxury Square Tiles for Home Interiors

Made in the USA

We are proud to offer recycled materials that are 100% made in the USA.

By working with US-based manufacturers, we’re able to reduce our environmental footprint and support domestic jobs. Keeping things local means less energy use and fewer emissions, all while strengthening our regional economy. For example, 70-85% of the raw materials used by our Polar Ice Terrazzo supplier come from within 500 miles of their facility. Our Chunky Terrazzo supplier also prioritizes local materials to keep transportation impacts to a minimum. Plus, our paper supplier is BABA (Build America, Buy America) certified, meaning a high percentage of the raw materials used are sourced within the US.

LEED Qualifications

Because our products are made from recycled materials and sustainably produced, they may qualify for LEED points.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most commonly used green building rating system in the world. A LEED certification symbolizes achievement in sustainability and leadership.

Participation in Local Recycling Programs

Recycling is not only a cornerstone of our brand, but also a key component of our production process and of our green manufacturing partners’ processes.

At LIVDEN, we do our part to keep waste out of landfills—starting right here in our own warehouse. We recycle all metals, glass, and plastics through the City of San Diego’s program, and we keep printing to a minimum by sticking to digital files whenever we can. Cardboard from our production process gets a second life in our shipping department, along with cardboard collected from our neighboring businesses.  And when it comes to leftover tile, we donate it to Habitat for Humanity, where it can be repurposed in future interior projects.

Our Polar Ice Terrazzo supplier has reduced overall waste by 22% thanks to smart recycling and sustainable building practices. Even the leftover bits from cutting are put to good use—they’re sent off to a company that turns them into mosaic tile, cutting landfill waste by more than 70%.

Our Chunky Terrazzo supplier is just as committed. They track their material use every month to find new ways to recycle and boost efficiency. By reusing materials that would normally be tossed, they keep millions of pounds of waste out of landfills each year. Plus, their terrazzo includes over 1 million pounds of recycled glass aggregates annually.

From our materials to our packaging, the environment is our concern through every step of production.
