Participation in Local Recycling Programs
Recycling is not only a cornerstone of our brand, but also a key component of our production process and of our green manufacturing partners’ processes.
At LIVDEN, we do our part to keep waste out of landfills—starting right here in our own warehouse. We recycle all metals, glass, and plastics through the City of San Diego’s program, and we keep printing to a minimum by sticking to digital files whenever we can. Cardboard from our production process gets a second life in our shipping department, along with cardboard collected from our neighboring businesses. And when it comes to leftover tile, we donate it to Habitat for Humanity, where it can be repurposed in future interior projects.
Our Polar Ice Terrazzo supplier has reduced overall waste by 22% thanks to smart recycling and sustainable building practices. Even the leftover bits from cutting are put to good use—they’re sent off to a company that turns them into mosaic tile, cutting landfill waste by more than 70%.
Our Chunky Terrazzo supplier is just as committed. They track their material use every month to find new ways to recycle and boost efficiency. By reusing materials that would normally be tossed, they keep millions of pounds of waste out of landfills each year. Plus, their terrazzo includes over 1 million pounds of recycled glass aggregates annually.
From our materials to our packaging, the environment is our concern through every step of production.
